Artist Statement
My main desire for Receiving Righteousness was to express the receiving of the gift of grace and righteousness at an individual level. I wanted to focus on the unseen, out of body movement that may occur when there is the receiving of righteousness through faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection. I wanted to capture the movement of his spirit rising and swirling like water and air over me.
All are Same, All Can Be Saved looks from a more distant perspective than the first canvas and captures the movement of people from death to life through faith in Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection. There is an explosion of people moving from death through the cross into his flying and swirling resurrection.
The main idea for Life Reigns in Jesus is to reflect on the contrast of death and life’s reign in this verse. It depicts God’s people spiritually alive now in Jesus but also considers the day when the fullness of Jesus’ reign will be realised and death’s reign in this world is swept away.
