Artist Statement
It is the small beauties that fascinate me - the vastness of air, a breath of oxygen from a tree, forgiveness in guilt, a smile from a proud sibling, memories from childhood, the invisible line attaching parent and child, a soft kiss, the connection through design in nature and humanity - the intricate and unnoticed beauties in the world that can often be taken for granted.
Consciousness of beauty can often be chained to the corner of one’s mind by expanding worries presented in life. It is as Lindy Lee said when explaining that what we see is only the beginning of what really is and that the many experiences we have in life combine to make us who we are, “the importance of art is to bring those invisible connections into visibility, back into life, so that we can actually reflect on them and without that reflection we’re just one dimensional" 1. Beauty in Family Fractals presents the viewer with a tangible visual formula to stop and consider the beauty of their consciousness within the world’s fleeting time, to consider and reflect on the past experiences that have influenced who and what they are today.
Three elements meet your eye
View them closely what can you see
A memory box you would love to buy
Life lived or what could be?

Patterns of design reflect in the trees
Connected we are, you and me
Expanding, growing into its leaves
After this world where will we be?
